I admit to being skeptical when I first saw Big Apple Bagels near the Piggly Wiggly supermarket. Big Apple? New York references are challenging for certain ethnic oriented foods that originate in The City. Still, I was willing to give it a go. I would know quickly whether the name was deserved, or just a pretender. Much to my pleasure, Big Apple is the real deal. It offers up large bagels with many options, both traditional (plain, onion, sesame, poppy) and some very original (French toast). They are the right texture; firm on the outside, leading to a softer chewiness on the inside. Totally satisfying. Please excuse my initial reluctance to believe. I am converted. Big Apple Bagels has what you need when craving your next bagel fix. I love being positively surprised when something is much better than expected.

My husband and I love to eat here! The staff is friendly and the service is fast! We always get the everything bagel and a cinnamon cheesecake muffin! The muffins are to die for! They also have frappuccinos comparable to Starbucks! We are making it a tradition to go every week!

Watch out for what you are being charged. This is the only bagel shop I've been to where they charge extra to slice and toast your bagel. Bagels are good but pricey and then with the extra add-on cost, you might want to re-think doing business with these folks.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had Mediterranean veg out. Good. Husband had Ruben. He said it was excellent and had lots of meat. We both enjoyed our meal. Everyone was Friendly and service was quick.

I was told by a friend, a former New Yorker to give this place a try. I do miss a crunchy but chewy crust and soft in the middle bagel. I stopped by yesterday and ordered a coffee and while I was choosing my bagel, I noticed they also made bagel twists! Oh, they got my attention now! I ordered one with butter, and although it wasn't warm, it had that chewy texture I had grown to love and miss. My bagel wasn't crunchy on the outside, as from my photos, it was baked light. But the inside texture was perfectly right. I began to enjoy my bagel in this restaurant, which offers muffins and cupcakes, as well as juices, and I think I can recall some yogurt, but I'm not certain. Tables and stark wooden chairs are provided at regular and bar height. I forgot to inquire about wifi, but I will check on my next visit, and believe me, there will be a next visit. I give this 4 1/2 stars, but they won't let me cut it in half, because none of the bagels are well done and the seating is not comfortable. But next time I go, I'll call the night before and ask if they could make well done bagels for me in the morning. Also, I think if they put in a couch and table for more comfortable seating, that would be really nice.

Bagel was good but for price you could goto Benjamin's bagels down the street for cheaper and they give you your money's worth! I ordered a sausage egg & cheese bagel was tasty but after eating at Benjamin's they give you a huge bagel egg is loaded on there and the sausage patty was bigger than this place.

This is a franchise bagel place just like every other chain store such as Einsteins. Not sure if they are trying to mimic New York style bagels or what but they are the same bagels here as they are in any other state. The bagels are big and tasty. Chewy on the inside and if toasted nice and crispy on the outside. Bagel sandwich was good and went here three times for the week. Again it's not a Jewish bakery in Skokie IL but it is a nice place to get a good bagel.

Loved the bagels! I had breakfast on this visit. Had bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and an acai energy smoothy. The egg was a little on the thin side, but the people were friendly and attentive. The place was hopping so I am guessing people frequent it a lot. Thats saying something because the places to eat around the area is second only to the places selling swimwear (some of which look like palaces) Love the atmosphere. They talk with you if you want and leave you alone if you don't ( most of the time I am of the later persuasion) so its nice to know that when you want to just read the paper and eat and be left alone there is not a chatty server talking your ear off.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but give it a shot. Very friendly staff and good food. Recommend the turkey and havarti or the bacon egg and cheese. Can get crowded around peak hours (currently here at 12:30 and there are no open tables).

Yes!!! A real bagel in Myrtle Beach! So good...we just got a salt and a sesame to go just to be sure they are the real thing. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely go back.

The bagels are great! They have a good selection and they are always fresh! They are not known for their coffee and it is obvious why, it's not good. I went to pick up bagels for the family and the pricing was fair, a little on the expensive side but they had a good "combo" which included 6 bagels and cream cheese for somewhere between $10-$15. I will go back. The bagels are delicious!

My favorite place to go for a bagel. I always get the French toast bagel and I love it. I love the cinnamon toast coffee too. And I have been going there sinced they opened and I always get napkins when I go. And if you need more they will give you some.

I'm a New Yorker and picky about my bagels. These bagels are delicious. Tried Goldberg's bagels last year and the texture and flavor were not good. Yes, it's true they charge for slicing when you buy a dozen. Cheap, I agree. They should invest in an automatic slicer since they slice by hand and that is why they charge $1 for slicing. But my kid was with me while purchasing and they offered a free cookie for her. Don't understand but whatever. A good bagel is a good bagel and I'll pay for it.

Bagels are good. But they pulled a bait-and-switch on the price of a latte: the menu on the wall day a regular latte is $3.29 but they actually charge $3.49. So you should check what they charge you!
